Why must OpUtils be used for monitoring a heterogeneous network environment?
- Download this app from Microsoft Store for Windows 10 Mobile, Windows Phone 8.1, Windows Phone 8. See screenshots, read the latest customer reviews, and compare ratings for NetScan - Network Scanner.
- A ping tool is included in IP – MAC Scanner, for you can easily ping any IP address from the scanning results. You can also find remote control and email notification functions in side IP – MAC Scanner!
OpUtils is a Switch port and IP address management software that helps network engineers manage their switches and IP's with ease. Businesses increasingly rely on their networks and resources for basic operations. ManageEngine OpUtils with its suite of 30+ tools, addresses the need of network engineers for troubleshooting connectivity issues and on-demand monitoring of the network.
ManageEngine OpUtils provides the following utilities for performing address monitoring operations.
IP Scanner for the Macintosh displays all machines, users & IP numbers of Macintosh users on your local network. It also detects some non-Macintosh devices,.
Tools included in this category are:
- IP Address Manager - Utility to help you keep track of all your IP's.
- Rogue Detection - Utility to scan your routers, subnets, switches, gateway servers, etc., periodically and detects the wireless / wired rogue systems, devices, access points, and more.
- MAC Address Resolver - Utility to resolve MAC address from host name and vice versa. This tool also discovers the physical address of a device and maps it with the corresponding IP's.
- MAC Address Scan - Utility to lookup MAC addresses for a range of IP's. The tool also displays the port number, community, MAC address, DNS name, system name, and system type
- DHCP Scope Monitor - Utility to find the used and available IP's in the scopes of the DHCP server
- DNS Resolver - A general-purpose data query tool chiefly used for translating host name into IP's and vice versa.
- DNS Scan - Utility to scan a range of IP addresses for translating it into the domain name.
- MAC IP List - Utility to get the list of MAC and IP Addresses in the network.
IP Address Manager
IP Address Manager (IPAM) helps you keeping track of all your IP addresses. IP monitoring tool allows you to define a hierarchy to add all your subnets based on their usage/location and then scan them to get the current status.
Using this tool, network engineers can identify whether an IP address is currently available or not. The IP address monitoring software helps to manage the IP addresses in a static DNS environment, using pre-defined user policy. The IP address monitor tool helps in monitoring IP's by scanning a subnet and provides the availability status of IP addresses on that subnet. One can check whether a particular IP is reserved or available. The IP address monitoring tool accept multiple subnet inputs, which helps in scanning your entire network to get the status of the IP addresses. Know more»
During a restructuring of our facility we put OpUtils to the test verifying all our IP's. It worked perfectly at pinpointing old addresses not used and saved us serious time organizing our approach. Many Thanks!- Jeffrey Lane, IT Administrator, The Automaster Motor Co.
Rogue Detection
When OpUtils detects a new MAC address in the network either through periodic or manual scanning of subnets, the device gets added to this result as a rogue device. Initially, all the discovered MAC addresses will be shown here. The administrator has to verify the list and delete the valid devices. This is a one time configuration after scanning the entire network. Later on, if any new MAC address is found during the scanning process, it gets listed here.

OpUtils periodically scans the routers and subnets to detect any new systems/devices found in the network. Initially it lists all the systems/devices discovered in the network. The Administrator has to verify and mark all the valid systems/devices in the network. Know more»
MAC Address Resolver
The MAC address resolver can fetch the MAC address for any SNMP-enabled node, with the provided IP address. This MAC address monitoring tool also discovers the physical address of a device and maps it with the corresponding IP address. In addition to showing the MAC address, the tool also shows the SNMP availability, IP address, DNS name, port number, community, system type, and system description.
MAC Address Scan
The MAC address scan tool scans a given range of IP's and displays the MAC addresses for various devices available in the given range. This MAC address monitoring tool also displays the port number, community, MAC address, DNS name, system name, and system type.
DHCP Scope Monitor
The DHCP scope monitor, which is a type of IP address monitoring tool fetches all the scopes that are defined in the DHCP server and displays the total (used and available) IP addresses in each scope. When the number of available IP addresses falls below a defined value, the display turns red to indicate the criticality.
MAC IP List
OpUtils periodically queries the routers and subnets defined in the Router settings and collects the information, such as MAC Address, IP Address, type and DNS Name of the devices and stores it in the database. The data is also updated whenever a scan is performed for a given IP range. This data is presented in the form of a table showing the details of the collected information along with the time at which the data was updated.
During a restructuring of our facility we put OpUtils to the test verifying all our IP's. It worked perfectly at pinpointing old addresses not used and saved us serious time organizing our approach. Many Thanks!- Jeffrey Lane, IT Administrator, The Automaster Motor Co.
DNS Resolver
Network engineers can use DNS resolver to quickly get the host name of any node whose IP address is known and vice versa. This IP address monitoring software also shows details like the default net mask, network type and the status for the forward and reverse lookups.
DNS Scan
Using the DNS scan tool, one can scan a range of IP addresses to see whether the forward and reverse lookup actions are working fine for the devices. It also shows the response time. In cases where an IP is not used in the network, the monitoring IP address tool prompts that the system does not exist in the network.
For more details on each of the tools, refer to the Address Monitoring Tools section in the online help.

Description
FastResolver is a small utility that resolves multiple host names into IP addresses and vice versa. You can simply type the list of IP addresses or host name that you want to resolve, or alternatively, you can specify IP addresses range that you want to scan. For local network, FastResolver also allows you to get the MAC address of all IP addresses that you scan.FastResolver is a multithreaded application, so it can resolve dozens of addresses within a few seconds.Versions History

Be aware that resolving IP address to host name doesn't work well under Windows 98/ME.
Using FastResolver
FastResolver doesn't require any installation process or additional DLLs.Just put the executable file (FastResolver.exe) anywhere you like, and run it.After you run FastResolver utility, you can type multiple IP addresses and host names, separated by commas, spaces, or CRLF.Alternatively, you can select IP addresses range to resolve into host names.
The 'Company Name' Column
Starting from version 1.20, FastResolver allows you to view the company name of each MAC address. However, in order to get this feature, you must download the following external file, and put in the same folderof FastResolver.exe: http://standards.ieee.org/develop/regauth/oui/oui.txtBe aware that you must save it as 'oui.txt'
Options Menu
- Display Multiple Host IP Addresses: If this option is checked, and the host name has multiple IP addresses, all IP addressesare displayed.
- Resolve IP Addresses Back To Host Name:If this option is checked, and you resolve an host name to IP address, the IP Address is resolved back into a host name, and displayed in 'Host Name' column. The original host name that you typed is displayed under 'Original Name' column.
